JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Cal-Maine Foods Inc., which produces and packages eggs, said Friday it and Country Creek Farms LLC, an egg marketing company, agreed to acquire poultry producer George's Inc. shell-egg division in Arkansas.Financial terms were undisclosed. Cal-Maine and Country Creek Farms will run the shell-egg business under a jointly owned company called Benton County Foods LLC. Cal-Maine will be the majority owner.Assets acquired include 1 million laying hens, growing facilities for replacement pullets and a feed mill in Watts, Okla.Eggs will be sold to retail food markets and food-service distributors in the South Central U.S.Cal-Maine shares fell 2 cents to $13.63 during aftermarket electronic trading, after closing up 26 cents at $13.65 on the Nasdaq Stock Market.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
