PARIS (Thomson Financial) - French homebuilder Kaufman et Broad SA announced a 16.9 pct surge in net profit to 40.7 mln eur in its first half to May from 34.9 mln a year earlier, lifted by a sharp rise in revenues.It reiterated guidance of full year sales growth of more than 10 pct and said it expects the gross margin to remain high.First half sales rose 10.4 pct to 631.0 mln eur from 571.7 mln a year ago, while housing orders stood at 1.231 bln eur at the end of May, up 3.4 pct year-on-year, the company said.Analysts had expected Kaufman et Broad to announce net profit of 38.9-42.2 mln eur on sales of 634.0-693.8 mln eur from 571.7 mln, according to estimates collated by Thomson Financial News.Andrew.Newby@Thomson.comanCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
