Lockheed Martin wins 125 mln usd US Army rocket order

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - The US Army has awarded Lockheed Martin Corp a 125 mln usd contract for the production of GMLRS rockets, on the day the Department of Defence officially advanced the company's rockets into what is known as into low-rate production.

GMLRS is an all-weather, precision-guided rocket that provides increased accuracy, thus reducing the number of rockets necessary to defeat targets by up to 80 pct.
