UPDATE DaimlerChrysler sells Aviation unit to Germany's ATON for undisclosed sum

STUTTGART, Germany (AFX) - DaimlerChrysler AG said it has agreed to sell its DaimlerChrysler Aviation subsidiary to German firm ATON GmbH for an undisclosed amount.

The deal is expected to be closed in the first quarter, subject to approval from cartel and aviation authorities, the German carmaker said.

Stuttgart-based DaimlerChrysler Aviation employs around 200 staff and posted 2006 sales of roughly 65 mln eur.
