KPN wants to expand in Europe, Eastern Europe

AMSTERDAM (AFX) - Royal KPN NV wants to expand operations in European countries Germany, Belgium as well as in Switzerland, Austria and Poland, Dutch newspaper the Telegraaf reported in its Saturday edition, citing the company's chief executive.

KPN CEO Ad Scheepbouwer will address an audience in The Hague this week, and announce his intention to reach this goal through acquisitions.

Scheepbouwer said he wants to develop KPN's mobile telephony operations in Belgium.
