Baloise shines with FY net profit rise of 75 pct to 707 mln sfr |

ZURICH (AFX) - Baloise Holdings AG reported a record full year net profit of 707 mln sfr, up from 404 mln sfr last year supported by a strong performance in the non-life sector and very strong income from investments.Looking ahead, the Swiss insurer said it plans to raise its dividend by 73 pct to 3.80 sfr, and to cancel 2.4 pct of the outstanding shares.The combined ratio in the non-life segment improved reaching a record low of 94 pct as compared to 100 pct last year.Net premiums income according to IFRS accounting standards fell to 6.717 bln sfr, from 6.839 bln sfr in the same period last year, while income from investments was up 11.5 pct at 2.297 bln sfr.afx.zurich@afxnews.comjmt/jfrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
