RUSAL secures 500 mln usd syndicated loan to complete Khakas smelter |

LONDON (AFX) - RUSAL, the world's third largest primary aluminium producer, said it secured a 500 mln usd syndicated loan to bring the Khakas aluminium smelter in Russia up to full capacity and refinance previously secured loans.The 12-year loan will be repaid with profits from product sales, it said.BNP Paribas is the loan organiser and bookrunner.The Khakas smelter, the first aluminium production facility to be built in Russia in the past 20 years, is expected to reach full capacity -- of about 300,000 tonnes of aluminium a year -- in November.More than 750 mln usd will be spent on the project.newsdesk@afxnews.comjc/cmrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
