ATLANTA (AP) - Home Depot Inc., the world's largest home improvement retailer, Tuesday unveiled a program that classifies environmentally products it sells.More than 2,500 products fit the category, Home Depot said, including all-natural insect repellents, cellulose insulation, front-load washing machines, organic plant food and vegetables in biodegradable pots.The products, which will be tagged 'Eco Options,' also include compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, programmable thermostats and certified wood.Home Depot said it will give away 1 million CFL bulbs on Earth Day, April 22, and it will also launch a dedicated Web site for the program.The retailer, which operates nearly 1,000 stores in the United States and Canada, also plans to replace the bulbs in its lighting-fixture displays with CFL bulbs.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
