LUTERBACH, Switzerland (AFX) - Schaffner Holdings AG reported first quarter sales rose by 9.9 pct to 43.0 mln sfr, up from 39.2 mln sfr the year earlier.New order intake rose by 14.3 pct to 54.1 mln sfr, up from last year's 47.4 mln sfr, the Swiss engineering group said. However, due to the group's divestment of its test systems division and the first-time consolidation of the Jacke Transformatoren business, a year-on-year comparison is inaccurate.Schaffner results exceeded analysts' forecasts, which saw sales coming in at 35.7 mln sfr and new order intake at 41.3 mln sfr.Schaffner did not offer an outlook for the coming months.afx.zurich@afxnews.comjmt/vsCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
