SEOUL (Thomson Financial) - South Korea's Samsung Corp, the trading arm of Samsung Group, said Wednesday it secured a 190 million US dollar contract to build a power plant for Singapore's state-run PowerSeraya Ltd.Samsung said it and Siemens AG of Germany jointly won the job order, with Samsung's portion of the deal estimated at 190 million dollars. Siemens's portion of the contract was not given.Samsung and Siemens will build a 760-megawatt cogeneration plant in Singapore's Jurong Island forcompletion by April 2010.At 10.55 am (0155 GMT), Samsung Corp shares were up 1,000 won or 1.8 percent at 56,800 won, while the KOSPI index gained 15.00 points or 0.9 percent at 1,751.18.(1 US dollar = 945.90 won)saeromi.shin@thomson.comsss/msCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
