MOSCOW (Thomson Financial) - The Russian Finance Ministry announced that it has nominated former Czech central bank chief Josef Tosovsky to head the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Interfax reported.So far, Tosovsky's only rival for the position is the European Union's nominee Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who previously served as the French finance minister.Current IMF managing director Rodrigo de Rato announced in June that he would leave the bank in October.alfred.kueppers@thomson.comamk/rfwCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
