France's Sarkozy to promote Dassault's Rafale jets during Morocco visit

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy will use a state visit to Morocco to urge Rabat to buy Rafale fighter jets from Dassault Aviation, despite reports the African country has chosen to buy less expensive F-16s from the US.

'I want to propose to Morocco the best of our know-how in this field (the Rafale), and in other sectors of our defence industry,' Sarkozy said in an interview with Moroccan newspaper Assabah.
