FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - A unit of General Dynamics Corp. on Monday received a $10 million deal from the Navy to modernize telephone switch systems at two Navy air stations and one submarine base.Under the contract, General Dynamics' Information Technology unit will upgrade the telecommunications networks using approved software at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla., Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Ga. and Naval Station in Mayport, Fla. The upgrade will also include Voice-over-Internet Protocol, which will enable phone service through a high-speed Internet connection for 5,000 users in the Jacksonville area.The company is expected to complete work in early 2009.Share of General Dynamics fell 40 cents to $85.07 in afternoon trading.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
