Credit Agricole seeks 2 seats on Bankinter board - report

MADRID (Thomson Financial) - Credit Agricole has asked Bankinter SA chairman Pedro Guerrero for two seats on the bank's board, El Economista reported, without citing its sources.

Bankinter, however, is waiting to see whether the Bank of Spain will allow Credit Agricole to hike its shares to 30 pct from 19.53 pct, it said.

On Monday, Credit Agricole announced the acquisition of 14.99 pct of Bankinter, raising its stake to 19.53.
