Casino to launch mobile offer at French supermarkets in tie-up with Tele2 |

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Retailer Casino Guichard-Perrachon announced the launch of an own-brand mobile phone offer at its French supermmarkets through a partnership with Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Tele2.Casino is to sell a pay-as-you-go mobile offer under the 'Casino Mobile' brand. Initially, the service will be available at the retailer's Geant hypermarkets and around 100 supermarkets, with a view to rolling it out rapidly to most of its French stores.Swedish-owned Tele2 operates using the network of France Telecom unit Orange.Among other leading French supermarket chains, Carrefour and Auchan have already introduced similar own-brand mobile phone offers, while Leclerc is due to launch an offer next month.tfn.paris@thomson.comgt/lhtCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
