Anheuser-Busch confirms Indian joint venture with Crown Group |

LONDON (AFX) - Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc's International division and India's Crown Group said they will form a joint venture to sell Budweiser and other beers in India, confirming press reports last year.The 50-50 owned Crown Beers India Ltd will brew, market and distribute beers from an advanced brewery in Hyderabad, due to be completed in March this year, the two companies said.Terms of the agreement were not given.'International expansion is a key part of Anheuser-Busch's growth strategy, and while India is a small beer market today, it is growing rapidly and has tremendous long-term potential,' said August Busch IV, chief executive of Anheuser-Busch Cos.newsdesk@afxnews.comabrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
