AMSTERDAM (AFX) - Shares in Amsterdam closed higher, led by financials which benefited from strong results posted by European peers and solid gains among oil stocks as crude prices inched higher, dealers said.The AEX closed 0.55 points or 0.11 pct up at 509.33, its highest close this year, after trading in the range 509.59-512.47.Government bonds traded lower while the euro stood at 1.3104 usd versus 1.3126 usd late yesterday.mike.croall@afxnews.commc/icCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
