Associated Estates sells Ohio property

CLEVELAND (AP) - Associated Estates Realty Corp. said Thursday it sold a 120-unit apartment property in Mayfield Heights, Ohio for an undisclosed amount.

Associated Estates is a real estate investment trust with about 20,758 units in 100 multifamily properties, either directly or indirectly owned or managed.

The move to sell the apartment property is part of the company's strategy to exit the retirement home business, the company said.

Shares of Associated Estates rose 16 cents to $16.47 on the New York Stock Exchange in midday trading.
