Mitsubishi Motors to launch flexible fuel vehicle in Brazil by March 2008

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Mitsubishi Motors Corp said it will launch its first-ever flexible fuel vehicle, which runs on gasoline, ethanol or a mixture of the two, in Brazil by March, 2008.

It said it developed the car in a joint project with its manufacturing and sales partner, MMC Automotores do Brasil Ltda.

Development of flexible fuel models for the US is also underway, with the aim of rolling them out during the fiscal year to March 2010, Mitsubishi said.

The company did not reveal volume targets.
