Government lifts ban on Career Education |

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (AFX) - Career Education Corp., a for-profit education company, said Monday the U.S. Department of Education has lifted restrictions on the company that prevented it from acquiring schools and opening additional domestic campuses.The restrictions were imposed in June 2005. In August 2006, the Department of Education approved the company's applications for new International Academy of Design and Technology campuses in Texas and California to participate in Title IV programs.
