Publicis denies rumours of plans for Aegis bid

PARIS (AFX) - Publicis SA denied speculation on financial markets that claimed the company was considering a takeover bid for Aegis Group PLC, saying the rumours were 'groundless.'

Aegis has long been considered a potential target for rival advertising companies.

Vincent Bollore, the chairman of Havas, is the largest shareholder in Aegis, with a 29.2 pct stake.
