Basilea applies for Swiss clearance for ceftobiprole to treat foot infections |

ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Basilea Pharmaceutical AG said its partner Janssen-Cilag, a Johnson & Johnson company, has applied to Swiss medical watchdog Swissmedic for marketing authorisation for its ceftobiprole antibiotic in the treatment of diabetic foot infections.Swissmedic has already granted fast-track assessment of ceftobiprole for treating skin and soft tissue infections.Ceftobiprole is currently under review by regulatory authorities in the US, Canada and the EU.sarah.fenwick@thomson.comsf/jmsCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
