TOKYO (Thomson Financial) - The value of domestic shipments of consumer electronic products was 8.0 percent higher at 253.6 billion yen in September from a year earlier, rising for the fourth straight month, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) said Tuesday.The JEITA said the volume of shipments of flat-panel televisions rose last month, with deliveries of plasma display panel TVs surging by 22.0 percent to 83,000 sets and deliveries of liquid crystal display TVs up 38.9 percent at 630,000 sets.In contrast, shipments of cathode-ray tube TVs declined by 71.9 percent to 38,000 sets.Shipments of DVD recorders and players dipped 3.7 percent to 420,000.(1 US dollar = 114.47 yen)kaori.kaneko@thomson.comkk/jgkk/jgCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
