HELSINKI (Thomson Financial) - Nokia Siemens Networks said it has won contracts for managed services and next-generation equipment from Deutsche Telekom worth up to 450 mln eur over five years.The company, a joint venture between Finland's Nokia and Germany's Siemens, said it would also take control of Deutsche Telekom unit Vivento Technical Services (VTS).VTS, founded in 2004, builds and maintains fixed-line and mobile networks mainly for Deutsche Telekom but also for Telefonica SA's 02 and NetCologne.The unit, a subsidiary of Vivento, Deutsche Telekom's in-house re-deployment agency, employs 2,000 people and will become a wholly-owned unit of Nokia Siemens Networks.The deal is expected to close early next year.Nokia Siemens Networks said of the contracts it has signed with Deutsche Telekom, one relates to managed services and is worth 300 mln eur over five years.An additional contract for next-generation equipment and services is worth up to 150 mln eur over the same period.james.etheridge@thomson.comje/je/slmCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
