BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Indonesia's Asia Pulp & Paper Co Ltd (APP) said the US International Trade Commission (ITC)'s determination not to impose anti-dumping duties on coated free sheets (CFS) paper imported from China, Korea and Indonesia is a just and evidence-based decision. This decision resulted from a year-long case by the US Department of Commerce, which was seeking anti-dumping duties on CFS paper imported from China, APP said. The department announced its final decision in the glossy paper case in October, hitting China with countervailing duties ranging up to 44.25 pct and additional anti-dumping duties of up to 99.65 pct. It set lesser penalties on glossy paper from South Korea and Indonesia. The ITC determination overturned the ruling by the Department.'The judgment by the ITC is a victory for free and fair trade. It reinforces our faith in the fairness of the US regulatory process,'said Rui Zheng, coordinator of APP China's CFS case team.APP has several pulp and paper making companies in China, including Gold East, Ningbo Zhonghua, Gold Huasheng, Gold Hong Ye and Hainan Jinhai.kelly.zang@xfn.com-xfnkz/xfnjanmCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
