Freeport-McMoRan prices share offer at 61.25 usd |

LONDON (AFX) - Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc said it has priced its offering of 41 mln shares at 61.25 usd a share, adding the underwriters have an option to buy up to 6.15 mln more to cover overallotments.The company also said it is pricing its offer of 25 mln shares of 6 3/4 pct mandatory convertible preferred stock at 100.00 usd a share, which will pay dividends at 6.75 pct a year.Freeport-McMoRan said the offering will generate gross proceeds of about 5 bln usd and it will use the funds to repay debts linked to its 25.9 bln acquisition of Phelps Dodge.newsdesk@afxnews.comwjCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
