LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Fyffes PLC said the company, its units and its European joint venture, Internationale Fruchtimport Gesellschaft Weichert & Co KG face European Commission investigation into the supply of bananas to the Northern European region of the European Economic Area.The tropical fruits importer said it received the statement of objection which follows inspections carried out by the European Commission at the premises of Fyffes and Weichert in early June 2005.Fyffes and Weichert will examine the EU's preliminary findings as reported in the statements of objections and respond in due course.tfn.newsdesk@thomson.compvi/jfrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
