ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A Florida doctor ensnared in a multistate investigation into steroid distribution for writing illegal prescriptions entered a guilty plea in New York on Tuesday.Claire Godfrey, 36, who worked at an anti-aging clinic in Orlando, Fla., was charged in March with issuing prescriptions for steroids in collusion with Signature Pharmacy, the Orlando pharmacy at the center of the probe.Prosecutors said Godfrey agreed to issue prescriptions for steroids and other controlled substances to two men in New York without examining them, as required by law.She pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal diversion of a prescription medication and faces a maximum of 2 to 6 years in prison. Godfrey will cooperate with prosecutors to 'give insight' into Signature Pharmacy, Albany County District Attorney David Soares said.Godfrey is among eight people from Texas, Florida and New York who have pleaded guilty in the probe.
