Danisco, Novozymes seen bolstered by Bush's bioethanol speech

COPENHAGEN (AFX) - Ethanol producers Danisco and Novozymes may receive a boost after US president Bush recommended five times higher consumption of US bioethanol in his State of the Union speech, Borsen wrote.

President Bush aims to cut US petrol consumption by 20 pct by 2017 and replace it with environmentally friendly fuels such as bioethanol. The US plans to boost alternative fuel production to make 7.5 mln gallons in 2012 versus 4.7 mln gallons today.

The presented figures will raise investor interest in the ethanol sector substantially, analysts said, according to the paper.
