Merck KGaA says 6.2 mln new shares placed at 87.00 eur/shr

FRANKFURT (AFX) - Merck KGaA said that E. Merck OHG, the company that oversees the Merck family's 73 pct stake in the drugmaker, has placed around 6.2 mln new Merck shares at a price of 87.00 eur each, raising a total of 539 mln eur.
