FRANKFURT (AFX) - GPC Biotech AG said it has placed around 1.56 mln new shares with institutional investors at a price of 21.50 eur per share, raising roughly 33.6 mln eur.The shares were sold today in an accelerated bookbuilding process with an underwriter, the company said in a statement.GPC Biotech said it wants to use the proceeds to accelerate the build-up of its sales and marketing network in the US, among other things.The new shares, which will represent 4.51 pct of GPC Biotech's total outstanding shares following the transaction, are expected to be listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in August, the company added.newsdesk@afxnews.comjfb/ambCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
