Roche's Avastin wins EU approval for treatment of non-small cell lung cancer

ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Roche Holding AG said its cancer treatment Avastin has been approved in Europe for the first-line treatment of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy.

NSCLC is the most common form of lung cancer, a difficult to treat disease, killing over 3,000 people per day worldwide.
