DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Preparing food on the fly was made easier for busy homemakers Monday with the announcement that recipes can be delivered directly to cell phones and other wireless devices.Better Homes and Gardens, the flagship media brand of Meredith Corp. introduced Recipes-on-the-Go, a service providing consumers with hundreds of recipes directly to a mobile phone.The company said it's an example of how Meredith is leveraging wireless technology to serve the growing audience of women who use mobile platforms to make decisions regarding their home and family lives.Consumers can use their mobile phone to enter a keyword or browse Better Homes and Gardens recipe collections by main ingredient, preparation time, or special considerations such as low-fat meals or kids' favorites.The company said a meal preparer can find the right recipe, whether they are on the road, at the office, or in the grocery store, Meredith said in a statement.'Today, more than ever before, convenience and accessibility are the currency in meal planning for millions of women,' said Dan Hickey, editor-in-chief of BHG.com.The idea was developed in partnership with Mobifusion Inc., a global developer, publisher and distributor of mobile applications and technologies.
