Telenor's DTAC unit Q3 EBITDA jumps to 828 mln nkr vs 732 mln yr-on-yr

OSLO (Thomson Financial) - Telenor ASA said its 70.6 pct-owned Thai unit, Total Access Communications Ltd (DTAC), posted third-quarter EBITDA of 828 mln nkr, up from 732 mln nkr last year, but marginally below the 864 mln figure posted last quarter.

In Norwegian kroner, Telenor said DTAC posted third-quarter EBIT 308 mln nkr, down from 376 mln last year and below the 344 mln nkr figure posted for the second quarter.

Sales, meanwhile, came in at 2.98 bln nkr, down marginally from 3.00 bln nkr in the last quarter, but well up on the 2.04 bln figure from last year.

DTAC had capital expenditure of 428 mln nkr during the quarter, down from both 432 mln in the second quarter and 565 mln last year, Telenor added.

DTAC reported its quarterly figures to both the Thai and Singapore Stock Exchanges earlier today.

The Thai firm had 14.88 mln subscribers at the end of the quarter, up from 14.48 mln at the end of the second quarter.
