Teva suing over generic Zoloft patents |

NEW YORK (AFX) - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. said Wednesday it filed patent infringement claims against several companies that make sertraline hydrochloride, or generic Zoloft.Pfizer Inc. lost patent protection on its antidepressant Zoloft last year.Teva filed the complaints in the U.S. District Courts of New Jersey, Delaware, Southern District of New York, and Maryland. Specifically, it mentions three patents used to make the generic drug.Israel-based Teva did not name the companies or the number of companies it is suing.Shares of Teva fell 23 cents to close at $34.73 on the Nasdaq.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
