LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Elkedra Diamonds NL said it sold 4,575 carats of diamonds for 1.81 mln usd from its three-monthly sales, and produced 4,341 carats of diamonds in the quarter from its Chapada project in Brazil.The diamond mining company said after the merger with Vaaldiam Resources Ltd, two drill rigs and support staff are expected to be relocated to the Chapada project to advance the exploration programme.Further, the company said its shareholder will meet on Oct 29, to vote in favour of the proposed merger with Vaaldiam Resources.It added that it expects mining license for it Peba Lagoinha tenement with the next month, and current planning for the deposit estimates mining within the first quarter of 2008.No Australian exploration activities were carried out during the quarter.TFN.newsdesk@thomson.comjjo/pmi/sljCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
