Hong Kong-listed SMIC 2006 net loss 44.11 mln usd vs restated loss 114.78 mln

HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) 2006 results:

Sales - 1.47 bln usd vs 1.17 bln

Opg loss - 13.87 mln usd vs loss 87.04 mln

Net loss - 44.11 mln usd vs loss 114.78 mln

All the figures for 2005 have been restated.

SMIC said its 2006 performance was weighed down by a 43.12 mln usd loss from the sale of plant and equipment and other fixed assets, an interest expense of 50.93 mln usd and a foreign currency exchange loss of 21.91 mln usd.
