AMSTERDAM (Thomson Financial) - Amsterdam shares TFN Market data at 10.44 am

Major Indices

AEX 535.62, up 0.57 pct

AMX Midcap 745.65, down 0.36 pct

Government bonds mixed

Major Gainers:

-TomTom soared 5.77 pct to 31.71 eur after it reported weaker first quarter results broadly in line with expectations and reiterated its full year sales and margins guidance

-ABN Amro surged 4.43 pct to 36.56 on the latest round of M&A talk kicked off by a counterbid for the Dutch bank by Royal Bank of Scotland-led consortium offering 39 eur per share versus the 36.25 offered by Barclays

-Wolters Kluwer gained 1.13 pct to 21.50

-Tele Atlas rose 2.99 pct to 15.50

-BAM put on 0.92 pct to 19.71

Major Decliners:

-Fortis, part of the RBS consortium, now trying to outbid Barclays for ABN Amro, shed 1.54 pct at 33.96 eur

-ASML slid 0.59 pct at 20.26

-DSM fell 0.45 pct at 35.36

-Wereldhave fell 0.79 pct to 108.52

-Van der Moolen slid 0.53 pct to 3.72
