MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - India's Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd said it has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to manufacture and market cardiac treatment drug Pravastatin.Pravastatin is the generic version of Bristol Myers Squibb's Pravachol and is indicated in the treatment of primary prevention of coronary events such as in hypercholesterolemic patients without clinically evident coronary heart disease.Total annual market sales for all strengths of the drug were 1.19 bln usd in 2006.sourav.mishra@thomson.comsmi/ra/gpCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
