Kroger reaches tentative contract deal |

DETROIT (AP) - Kroger Co. on Friday said the nation's largest traditional grocery chain has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 876.The deal covers more than 9,900 Kroger workers at 101 stores in the Detroit area, the Cincinnati-based company said. The Detroit union local will present the tentative agreement to its members for a vote.Voting details were being determined, the union said.Terms of the agreement weren't released.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
