Prague shares at a glance outlook

PRAGUE (Thomson Financial) - Prague stocks are expected to open higher ahead of a busy week for company news and Thursdays central bank decision on interest rates.

On Friday, the main PX index closed 0.34 pct up at 1,847.6.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Today

- Czech statistical office (CSU) holds news conference on changes in Czech industry. (10.00 CET)

- Central bank board member Pavel Rezabek and section head Tomas Hladek attend a news conference on the issue of a new 2,000 crown banknote. (11.00 CET)

TODAY'S PRESS

- The Czech chamber of commerce wants the government to relax coal mining limits and boost production of nuclear power, saying high electricity prices are driving firms to consider moving production abroad (Hospodarske noviny)

- Telefonica O2s exclusive deal to provide telecom services to the state has expired. (Hospodarske noviny)

- Gross ad spending on Czech largest commercial station TV Nova, operated by Central European Media Enterprices (CME), fell 18 pct last year to 11.3 bln cowns (Hospodarske noviny)

COMPANIES

- Komercni banka will pay a dividend of 150 crowns per share today, giving a dividend yield of 3.8 pct.
