OC Oerlikon wins major thin film solar cell production plant order from Taiwan |

ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Swiss technology group OC Oerlikon Corp said its solar unit has signed a contract with CMC (Taiwan) for the supply of a 40 MWp thin film solar cell production plant.The first components will be shipped this year and production is scheduled to start in mid-2008.According to industry insiders, the order is estimated to be worth around 100 mln sfr.'With this major order, we will be the world's first company to supply a fully automated production line for thin film solar modules with integrated test systems,' said chief executive Uwe Krueger.andrew.ge.thompson@thomson.comat/cm2COPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
