Hungarian competition authority raids Microsoft subsidiary |

BUDAPEST (Thomson Financial) - Hungarian competition office GVH says it raided the offices of Microsoft's Hungarian subsidiary on suspicion the company abused its market position when dealing with distributors.GVH carried out the unannounced raid on July 19 looking for evidence that Microsoft Hungary had 'employed a system of conditions or favours with the most significant software distributors, making it disadvantageous for them to sell competing products.'GVH can investigate the alleged impropriety for 180 days before seeking an extension.
