(Updating to add CFO comment on reported interest in Spanair)FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Deutsche Lufthansa AG sees its operating profit in the full year coming in between 1 bln eur and 1.3 bln eur, chief financial officer Stephan Gemkow said. The German flagship carrier yesterday raised its guidance, saying it sees operating profit this year 'significantly' above 1 bln eur.'We aim to push through 1.2 bln eur, but our range starts well below that,' Gemkow told journalists in a telephone conference.Commenting on recent reports that Lufthansa may be interested in bidding jointly with TAP Portugal for SAS AB's Spanish carrier Spanair, Gemkow said he believes these reports to be 'a rumour.'Negocio last week said Lufthansa and TAP have requested financial information from the airline to study an offer.Gemkow also affirmed that the company is not looking to tie up with a private equity company to bid for one of its rivals, as some European airlines are rumoured to be doing at the moment.'We do not need financial investors to present a bid because they do not add value for us,' Gemkow said. He cautioned, however, that this may differ on a case-by-case basis.maria.sheahan@thomson.commas/slm/mas/rfwCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
