China's Wen to visit Japan in April |

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Premier Wen Jiabao will visit Japan in April, China's foreign ministry has announced, the latest event to mark a recent warming of ties between the two Asian rivals.Wen's trip follows Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to Beijing in October soon after he took office, a key event that helped lead to the cautious thawing of bilateral relations.Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing told visiting Japanese vice minister for foreign affairs Yachi Shotaro that Wen will travel to Japan in April, according to a statement posted on the ministry's website late on Thursday.'This year marks the 35th anniversary of normalization of China-Japan diplomatic ties, and Premier Wen Jiabao will pay an official visit to Japan in April,' Li said.China had previously said that Wen would visit Japan sometime over the next few months.afp
