MANILA (Thomson Financial) - The ratio of non-performing loans against outstanding loans at Philippine banks edged up to 5.28 percent at the end of August from 5.18 percent in the previous month, the central bank said Friday.The banking industry's soured loans increased to 103.25 billion pesos from 102.36 billion pesos while total loans dropped to 1.954 trillion pesos from 1.974 trillion pesos.(1 US dollar = 44.04 pesos)rocel.felix@thomson.comrf/msCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
