Ljubljana (Thomson Financial) - The commission overseeing the privatisation of telco Telekom Slovenija has shortlisted seven of the 12 tentative bids for the purchase of an important minority stake in the company, an Economy Ministry officials told the press in Ljubljana on Friday.Matjaz Jansa, who heads the electronic communication directorate at the ministry, said that three of the bids did not meet the conditions of the public call while two were assessed as not being good enough.The seven shortlisted bids for the 49.13 pct stake in Telekom Slovenija came from the British-German consortium Bain Capital & Axos Capital, Luxembourg-US fund CEP III/Carlyle, Croatian telco Hrvatski Telekom (which is owned by Deutsche Telekom), Australia's Macquarie Bank, Hungary's Magyar Telekom (also owned by Deutsche Telekom), Oger Telecom of the United Arab Emirates and Skipti of Iceland.Among the bids that were ruled out includes that from the only Slovenian bidder, Tus Telekom, which failed to show its financial sources, as demanded in the public call.The due diligence is to begin on 2 November with the launch of the virtual data room for the shortlisted bidders.
