TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The value of domestic shipments of consumer electronic products was 16.9 pct higher last month than a year before at 206.3 bln yen, rising for the third straight month, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) said.The JEITA said the volume of shipments of flat-panel televisions had risen last month, deliveries of plasma display panel TVs having surged by 62.5 pct to 53,000 sets and deliveries of liquid crystal display TVs having climbed by 34.9 pct to 450,000 sets.In contrast, shipments of cathode-ray tube TVs dropped by 58.6 pct to 75,000 sets.Shipments of DVD recorders and players slipped 8.5 pct to 369,000.(1 usd = 118.02 yen)kaori.kaneko@xfn.com
