Standard Chartered opens new sub-branch in Shenzhen |

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Standard Chartered Bank said it has opened a sub-branch in Shenzhen, southern China.'This is the first sub-branch launched by foreign banks in Longgang, and the opening came right after Standard Chartered received the approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to establish its local subsidiary in China,' the bank said in a statement.The new branch will provide a range of consumer banking services, including local and foreign currency services for foreign nationals and permanent residents of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the statement said.It added that the branch will also provide foreign currency services and fixed yuan deposits for amounts of no less than one mln yuan for Chinese nationals.Standard Chartered is expanding its network in China and aims to double its number of outlets to 40 by the end of this year.will.davies@afxasia.com
