Wyeth gets BeneFIX enhancement approval |

MADISON, N.J. (AP) - Drug developer Wyeth said Monday the Food and Drug Administration approved enhancements for its hemophilia medicine BeneFIX.The drug is a clotting substitute for patients with hemophilia B. The new approvals are for a lower amount of dilutive to administer the drug and a new needleless preparation process. The FDA also approved a 2,000 international unit-dosage strength vial, according to the companyWyeth said it expects to begin offering the new enhancements in the middle of 2007.Shares of Wyeth fell 45 cents to $50.10 on the New York Stock Exchange in midday trading.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
